The Historic Ghent Community and friends present New Bern's 4th Annual Mardi Gras on Saturday, March 2, 2019
This year will be our biggest, best, and most festive Mardi Gras yet - we're planning to celebrate BIG in 2019 - more vendors, more music, more floats, and more fun than ever before!
Festivities will begin at 11 am and wrap up at 6 pm, with the parade at 3 pm.
This year's parade route will be from Spencer Avenue and Eighth Street to Spencer Avenue and Second Street and will feature floats galore, antique cars, costumed krewes (groups and clubs), musicians and dancers, throws (Mardi Gras beads!), the New Bern trolley, and of course, the Mardi Gras king and queen and their royal court.
Festivities will take place before, during, and after the parade on Spencer Avenue between Second Street and Fifth Street. Festivities to include vendors, artists, musicians, New Bern's own Jonkonnu and other street performers, and food trucks.
All are welcome to join the fun, spectators and participants alike!
The Ghent Neighborhood Association and friends look forward to having you join us for Mardi Gras in 2019 - laissez les bons temps rouler (or, let the good times roll)!
P.S. This a fun-only event; no politics, no religion. Thank you!
